I have seen a couple of nice reviews of the Fallknivens. The A1, F1, and S1. I want to know has anyone really used and abused these knives? How do they perform in the field?

Hi Bible,

I wish I could tell you that I tried them but it is not the case.
However, Griffon (one of our members from Sweden) posted them in his collection. Check earlier posts for his address and shoot him a mail directly. Say hi to him for me.
You can try the same with Jeff Randall or ask him on his website ( http://www.jungletraining.com/ http://www.jungletraining.com/knives.htm ), since he takes knives to the jungle for testing. Though I haven't seen any Fallkniven listed, he might have some experience.
Other than that, I can only point you to tests and reviews that you might have read already: http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/001413.html http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/001348.html http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Set/2292/F1review.htm http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Set/2292/reviews.htm

However, based on an apparent consensus, they are well-made, good quality knives. Especially, with the Kydex sheats. Furthermore, they are less expensive than the Camillus Becker series knives I have seen.
Hope it helps,

HM

I think that Steven Dick (editor-in-chief of Tactical Knives) did a review of one of the Fallkniven F1's. He apparently field tested the knife if the mountians of the Skagit area (Washington state) and said it performed well as a field knife. (If I recall correctly). I think he also feild tested a folder of some sort as well. Unfortunately, I don't remember which issue it was.

So, if his opinion is worth anything (not just hype), it sould be a fine blade.

Hope this helps you out.

Darren

Tactical Knives featured articles on both the A1 and the F1. Unfortunately, those issues are boxed up somewhere and I don't feel like looking.
My experience with the A1 was using it as a snorkeling and dive knife. The Condura sheath did not hold the knife securely and I had to make an extra strap to keep the knife from getting pulled out when it gets entangled in kelp. The blade got a couple of stains on it from the saltwater. Unfortunately, I have not used it in any cutting use for anything other than kelp, which it cuts with ease.
