how do i choose between the different rat models?

Close your eyes and point to one. Seriously, they are all good, you would have a hard time picking a wrong one. Depends on what you want to use it for.
 
In situations like this I play "eni meeni mini mo"

I don't always go with the result...
It just helps me figure out what one i subconciously want more.
Because, depending on the result, there will be a little twinge either of relief or disapointment.
