How do I fix this?

What I did definitly had nothing to do with bending either the blade or the handle. Both the handle and the blade were perfectly straight to begin with. Just not aligned properly. I don't know what was the reason for this. Since I haven't taken the knife apart I don't know exactly what it looks like in the pivot area. But I suspect that the blade got caught on the thread of the pivot. But that's just a theory. MAybe somebody who has taken the knives apart can give us some idea how these malalignements come to be?

Mine was a Starmate. I doubt BM had anything to do with that.
I only own two Benchmades an Ascent and a 705. But both are prefectly aligned. Also I can't find any other fault with them.

I've had no other problem with Spyderco either. And once I knew how to do it my Starmate was easily fixed.
