Well, listen up and I will tell you.

Offer a prayer in your faith tradition for the St. Jude children's research hospitals, their mission, their patients, and their families.

Post in this thread. As noted below, please do not post your prayers. Those are private. I will let it run until Christmas. At that time, I will use a combination of polyhedron dice to generate a random number, The corresponding post will be the recipient of my 2009 knife.

This is not a place for religious debate. Remember the intent is to offer prayer for physical and spiritual healing and support. If you do not want to participate, or can not do so respectfully, do not.

If you want to know more, keep reading. If not, no worries.

I had recently seen a story on the St Jude research. I wanted to give, but do not have a lot right now. What I can do is pray. At first it did not seem like enough. Then something a friend said to me came to mind. He was telling me about a situation and said he was suddenly confronted with a decision. Either you believe or you do not. There really isn't a fence to sit on.

So there it is. I decided to share this with you guys and raise the question. may not mean much for you today.

Not easy to give up a knife we waited this long for, but I think I came away with something bigger today.

Thanks Ed,

I just want to say you are awesome for doing this. In such season, I am reminded to remember those who who are hurt, needy and poor. I won't enter the drawing but I will pray for all who needs healing physically, emotionally, and spiritually, along with St Jude

God Bless

Don't know if you meant for the prayer to be entered in the post. If so let me know and I will, but such things are often best left between the individual and his/her god.

The prayer is offered up. You're doing a noble thing Ed T.

Merry Christmas

Ed, those prayers is not hard to participate in. I work with children with psyciatric problems or disorders in the family. I donate for children living under difficult circumstanses and they and other children are indeed as always inwolved in my prayers. I think that you are doing a great thing here and that your request helps to rice a consious about those needing our help. Thanks for giving us a reminder of the inner journey we all can make towards thinking of, careing for, and praying for them around us needing our help.

Whatever one's faith or guiding philosophy, common decency and the desire to help those in need is the finest human action. It is a unifying response whatever one's culture. Altruism speaks louder than words, thank you for proposing this.

I learned about the amazing work St. Jude's does on a traditional archery forum a few years back. I'm so glad there are places like that......thanks for the reminder Ed.

:thumbup:All the Smoke and Prayers this old man has coming their way--

One of my daughters school friends was burned very bad a few years ago.
St. Jude has helped her from the start. I don't know what her family would have done without St. Jude.

My prayers go out to St. Jude, as well as all there patients and family.

Ed, this is very kind of you. If I win you can keep your forum knife, as I'm sure thats a knife you love.

Ed..

Prayers have been sent..though I'll pass on your thoughtful gift..

done buddy. You are too right, that is something that we all should do. Those people ehlp out so much they need all the support they can get.

I did say a prayer and told Ed that I wasn't in it for the knife so I wouldn't post in here, but he asked me to post anyway. So here it is.

If it does become me I'll be having a knife with a wonderfull memory of someone who truly wanted to do something for someone else.

May the prayers do your cause a whole lot of good Ed, Here's to you!

Way to bring attention to a meaningful cause.
Well done and thanks.

I'm already on for two and pray daily for all involved with the St. Jude children's research hospitals, so please don't add me.

Just wanted to say you're a cool dude, Ed T.

I also have 2 '09 knives inbound so please exclude me from your most generous competition.....

I will have all the patients, staff and all their families in my thoughts and prayers.
Healing sick children and giving them the promise of a future is indeed G-d's work......

You are an inspiration to us all Ed T ;)

Prayer made.
I already have a 2009 knife reserved so I will find a way to do some more good with this one should I be drawn for it.
