I'm not much of a praying man, but I do believe in helping others, no matter of status or class. St. Jude is a stand up organization and do a wonderful job. Every year, my workplace donates a few boxes of teddy bears to them, and it's just a great feeling. It's not much, but I hope it cheers up a kid or two.

Ed T awesome post, prayers have been and more to be sent for St. Jude children's research hospitals, their mission, their patients, and their families. If the dice choose my number please keep the knife for yourself.

Prayers sent. Thanks for the contest, there is nothing but good things that can come from this one.

Ed,
I just finished praying for St. Jude hospital. This is what Christmas is all about. God bless you Ed.

Prayer offered...

The power of prayer is unbelievable--if you believe! I am constantly amazed at the prayers I see answered around me. It's really neat when I get to see the kid's praying in Sunday School for other kids that they don't even know.

Matt

BTW-Thanks for the chance

Wonderful idea. Prayers on the way!
After a day of thinking about this, I wanted to say thanks again. You got them on my mind and in my prayers.
Well done Sir!

Years ago an 11 year old niece of mine came down with Leukemia. She was cared for at St. Judes. The good people at that hospital are doing the Lords work, they did everything they could to make the short life my niece had more comfortable . I've supported them and prayed for the children and their families that they help quite often.

Thanks for reminding all of us how important their mission is. If you pick my number please keep the knife.

It wasn't until only a few weeks ago that I learned about St. Judes. Every time I checked out at K-Mart, the cashier asked me if I wanted to donate a dollar to its cause, and I just blankly answered no without even thinking about it. But one time my girlfriend was with me, and explained what it was - she has a history of cancer in her family. Now I donate when I go through the line.

Both her and I have sent up prayers for the hospital. Thanks for your generosity.

I donate to St. Jude's hospital. My mother told me about St. Jude years ago.
The St Jude's Hospital does St. Jude's work in this life for children with cancer. No child is refused treatment at St. Jude's whether or not they can afford treatment.

This is a great giveaway and someone is going to have a knife that is more valuable than money can buy.

Thanks

Pete

Folks, all here respect everyone's faith and religious convictions. However, for the purposes of this thread and this forum, please keep replies on topic and leave religious commentary, history and anecdotes to private discussion off the forum. Ed T has made a generous offer and we want to keep the thread open to respect his gracious offer and intent. Please refer to the forum guidelines if you have any questions and feel free to contact the moderators privately if anything is unclear.

I'm in - prayers sent from Concord, my friend. Very nice gesture, Ed. Happy Holidays to you & yours. :)

thx - cpr

Ed T, I commend you for a GREAT thread. This is something we definitely do not do enough. Great Idea and thanks for the chance.

Prayers from here. They do good work.

If anyone out there is a federal employee St. Judes is one of the charitable organizations approved for the Combined Federal Campaign. There should be someone in your office who is a coordinator.

In my neck of the woods information about the Combined Federal Campaign can be found at www(dot)inwcfc(dot)org. You might be able to google it for your area too.

I'll tell you what, Ed.

You can have the prayer (rather, St. Jude's can) ... with no need to part with your knife.

Should I win, I would request that Ed T keep his keepsake.:)

As much as I like winning knives. I concur with OP. Prayers sent.

Roger that--Ditto.. If'n my number comes up than I would also very much like the knife to stay with you(gifted back) as well, please. :)

Never under estimate the awesome power of prayer. Especially when its a large group praying for a fine cause like St. Jude and they're patients, Doctors, donors, and the families and the friends who pray for them all. Consider these prayers sent and also now on my permanent prayer list hence fourth.

Thanks Ed, good on you bother.

Merry Christmas & Many Blessings to all here,
Anthony

I also agree with OldPhysics. Ed T, I will offer a prayer in the honor of St. Jude's Hospital and all that they do.
