How do I lock a thread I started?

I don't need to lock anything just yet. But soon I'll buy a gold membership and sell off a bunch of knives. I'd like to know how to lock up a thread before I get to that point.
 
Above the first post, on the right side, you'll see "Thread Tools". Clicking on that makes a drop down menu appear. If you have the right to lock the thread, it will be one of the options on that menu.
 
Another easy way: go to the forum list, find your thread, double click on the envelope to the left, and the black band of a locked thread will appear across it. (Double clicking again will unlock it.)
 
You can't lock your threads as a RU, so you'll have to wait till you're Gold for the options posted to show up.
