How do I put my folding bushman back together

It got really dirty and gritty an wouldnt just wash clean so I took it apart but now I'm haveing a bitch of a time getting it back together. Any tips or tricks to it.
 
Are you putting it together with the blade open or closed, I would recommend doing it with the blade open.

It's open but I can get the spring to stay down while I'm putting the lock back together.
 
Well have you tryed using locking pliers and other tools to help, also don't be afraid to go bug a freind, neighbor, somone it the same building as you to help you, even if it is just to hold a part down.

For the spring issue. Notice that right above (or below depending on how your holding the knife) there is a slot. Guess what thats for! Just use something like a small paper clip or other wire and put it through that slot, holding down the spring while you screw down the screw.
 
1 put spring in ram and put in handle
2 hold frame and pull ram back as if unlocking
3 have helper clamp vise grips on top area of exposed ram
4 now ram will stay in place for blade and washer assembly
