how do i straighten blessbok horn??

what's the trick to straightening this stuff ? i thought it was to boil it in water. i don't know why it did not work, maybe i'm just not letting it boil long enough. i dont want to screw these nice horns up so any tips will be appreciated. kyle

What I've done with Spring Bok (and I don't see why it wouldn't work with Bless Bok) is to clamp the horn into a vise, run a wooden dowel up into the horn and then heat the sections you want to straighten with a heat gun. As they warm up you can bend them straight and just hold them for a minute until they cool and set. Hope this helps.
