How do I terminate the end of a spool knitted lanyard?

Well, I spool knitted a little lanyard to attach my key ring to a carabiner, but I don't know how to terminate the ends. It is a short piece so I want the key ring and caribiner to be close to the lanyard and not on the end of a big loop.

Any knot suggestions or sites/tutorials you can direct me too? I've been to stormdrane's blog(that's were I got the idea), but he doesn't have anything on terminating his stuff.

What cord did you use ,if its paracord or nylon then you just need to melt the ends with your lighter ,I normaly melt with the lighter then press it against smooth to flatten it.

Ya, I know that, I talking more in the line of nots. Melting the end won't keep it from coming undone.

I was thinkin' about this for awhile...I was gonna give the response above, but I know that you were looking for something else.
I hate to say this, but, you may have to consider creating your own finishing knot for it. I didn't want to say this, because there's a lot of "heavy lifting" involved.
- Good luck....just try to keep it simple. I've been recently involved with lanyard making with my daughter with paracord, and coming up with "new" knots is a bitch.

You melt the ends together so that two or more strands come together in one mass of melted nylon. I have one that I tied off, but it would be difficult to explain how it was done without having a pic, and I don't have a pic handy. Play around with it some and I'm sure that you'll come up with something that works. Remember that simple is good, simpler is better.

Make a More"s head knot (Ashley #670) or a Pig ass knot (Ashley #671) but according to the thickness of the rope it may be a bit encumbering. you can too make a binding with a fine piece of string using the constrictor knot (Ashley #1249).
