How do non-locking pocket knives not fold onto your fingers when using the knife to cut or open something? Is it because of the direction of force you're applying? Since you're not putting the pressure on the spine of the knife blade, but instead on the sharp edge of the knife blade?

Pretty much, yeah. Just gotta be conscious about not backing out if the blade binds when cutting (ie: cardboard).

Seriously???!?! This is beyond ridiculous now.....

All your questions were answered in your previous two absurd threads. Maybe you missed the Moderator's warning in the locked threads......"OP is about a gnat's eyelash from departing this vale."

Just stay away from knives, OK?

I just saw his other threads about the same thing. This question seemed honest, if naive. In context with the other threads though, there's no way somebody is actually this clueless.

You don't try to cut more than the knife can handle. Experience. Common sense. If you're serious with these threads, and you're honestly looking for reassurance or mathematical evidence, you're not going to get much more help from us. Most of us aren't engineers, and there isn't a lot of empirical evidence comparing the shock and strain loading limits of various knife locks. Cold Steel did some comparison videos, but those aren't scienticious.

I'm actually a terrible person who self-edits a lot, and I try to be a little better on this forum. But I don't know what else to say to help you out, man. Good night, and good luck.

OP let on there may be schizophrenia going on, I'd encourage no knives, guns, cars, anything really until treatment stabilizes some concerning behavior and intrusive thoughts.

I always like to give people the benefit of the doubt ahawkua, but your making that increasingly difficult. Both by your lack of participation in your own threads, and the lack of any background info about you. Starting multiple threads, in a short period of time, and not participating in them, is considered "bad form" on this forum.

Providing some background on yourself, your age (I now see you stated in your profile that you are 26), country, and your experience with knives (or lack thereof) might give you and your questions more credibility.

I know that I, like others, am starting to have my doubts about you (clearly some have more than just doubts). I hope I'm wrong and that you are just very inexperienced with knives, and online forums. But as it stands now, for the reasons I mentioned, you are very close to losing any and all credibility here.

The members here tend to be patient, helpful, and welcoming, but there are limits.

slip joints will disengage
if the blade gets caught
or snagged during a cut
on a forceful pull.
Slip joint or friction folder will not fold on a pull cut. Forcing is what you shall not do with a slip, friction, folder of whatever sorts anyway...
