How do spyderco get the knives super sharp out the factory? how are they sharpened?

You might be better served asking Spyderco directly, or at least in their subforum. Also, you already asked for pictures in your first post, so bumping the thread three minutes later to ask again is likely going to be frowned upon. Patience is key.

I doubt they sharpen their knives any diffrently than any other manufacturer, they just use a 30 degree bevel instead of a 40 or 50 degree edge.

Well to tell you the absolute truth, the Spyderco factory has Umpaloompas on a bunch of Sharpmakers in a top secret underground facility.

thanks for your 5 cents are you an editor?

Wow. Anyway, Spyderco turns out a knife with an unusual (for a production knife) inclusive angle of approx 30* (13-15 per/side) very acute very sharp, that is what its razer like sharpness would be attiruteable to vs other knives (20* and above per side) being commonplace. Sharp but not wicked sharp. Some will argue that a more workable edge but that's when the discussion gets infinately more complex.

I would guess that they're sharpened by experienced people, using abrasive, spinning belts. Although there's little chance of it, I could be wrong.

i have many knives but nothing compares to a spyderco for sharpness nothing,I really need to learn how to sharpen i suppose i need the right tools first .my spyder police is the sharpest knife ive ever had .i mean even my tenacious with that crap metal is amazingly sharp.

Correct. And this one very important reason I buy a lot of Spyderco knives. I absolutely hate having to re-profile a new blade. I have never had to re-profile a new Spyderco.

Well, the Umpaloompas in Golden deserve a raise.

I just got an Embassy and Citadel and both were as they say almost "scarey sharp". At any rate sharpest factory knives I've ever handled.
