I think all you would have to do is completely overhaul the legal system, get rid of all the lawyers, rewrite all the laws in plain English and reinstate what was once common sense so people would no longer believe having the word Military on the blade makes a pocketknife into a deadly weapon.

Even if you manage all that, I prefer the way it looks without it.

I'd like the option. I've seen some of the really old style (ATS-34) Militarys with all the fancy etching on the blade and clip.

I never liked the word "Military" on the blade...and I'm an old soldier!
I can't imagine why a civilian would desire it on the blade.

I don't really like the ones with "MILITARY" in big black letters, but the ones like this are pretty tasteful, IMO. This one has the 3 screw chromed clip and it's one of my faves.

The the 3 screw chrome clip, 440V models had the same etch. Hard to get it to show indoors under artificial light, but here it is...
