was wondering how you guys store your knives - had mine in boxes on a shelf in the closet, was always taking them in/out - my wife got me a knife case from www.brigadequartermasters.com - looks like a zippered nylon padded pistol case, but instaed of holding a pistol, it holds about 20 knives, from small (buck squire, crkt M16-00) to large (CS gunsite and REKAT SIFU) - i REALLY like it, a great way to store/transport your knives-got it for my birthday!! - my baby did good !!!!

also got a spyderco ultra fine ceramic finishing stone, already sharpened about a dozen knives w/it, talk about a hair poppin' edge!! i know they are high $$ but imho, after using one, well worth it - check one out if ya get the chance

so how do you guys store your knives?????

I also got some of mine in their original boxes. Some are wrapped in towels or in zip bags. All of them just inside a drawer.

I display all of mine in those walnut hinged display boxes with a glass top and foam inside. I also buy walnut easels so the boxes stand upright. Makes the knives look really nice.

I figure the main reason I own knives is to admire them, show them off, and use them.

Jayharley,

I´m looking for nice display boxes to put my knives in, so I´m wondering where you got yours from? What do you like and dislike about them?

Thanks.

I keep mine in one of those cheap plastic gun briefcases that have foam inside. You can put 15-20 knives inside of one and they don't slide around. Not bad for less than $10. BTW, you can find them at any K-mart or Wal-Mart. -Rick

I do not know if this is what you are looking for, but, check out www.woodendisplaycases.com they have a nice selection of cases that you might like for your display of knives. They sell cases to display all sorts of things. Even flags!

Store? Display? Knives aren't for storing or displaying, they are for carrying! I try to have most of mine on me whenever I can. You can never tell when you are going to need a good sharp knife. Of course the down side is that if I ever fall in the creek I may not be able to get out.

Glockdoc,

you sound exactly like a friend of mine over here :)

Archangel,

Thanks, that´s what I´m looking for. I´ve seen some other wooden displays but they are much thicker. Not good if you are putting them up on the wall.

In a "Van down by the river"! :)

Seriously, I have all my customs laying out on our old dining room table in my cave downstairs. Sitting right next to my computer, where I can pick them up and drool all over them anytime I feel like it.
