How do you carry small fixed blades?

Honest question here. Why would pocket carry be any less of a concealable offense as ankle carry. you can produce the knife from your pocket faster than you could your ankle. Only reason i like ankle, is it would keep it entirely out of the way, and if i had to cut something, it would be readily available.

Just recently got my hands on a Tom Brown Tracker II, with a hedgehog sheath. Wonderful knife. Gotta say, I'm still an advocate of horizontal belt carry; I didn't think it would work with a bigger knife, but I was wrong.

I carry my small fixed blade, the Fallkniven WM1 in a neck sheath. However the knife and the sheath is normally stored in a watertight container in my backpack. No swish swosh access at all :) I carry a FK U2 folder in my pocket instead.

In Sweden you can carry whatever fixed knife you want, as long as it is justifyable. A hunter, military, carpenter etc are never questioned. Police dont stop people in the middle of the road to check for knives. However, if the police ask you why you carry, you are already toast. The amount of toast depends on how, what, where etc. A SAK (or similar) will most likely result in that you have to pull your own ear :) A combat death kill rambo will give you a time in court :(

"Normal" people do not carry fixed blade regularly or any knife at all. Those who do are either "preparedness" nuts and the knife is a part of a EDC kit or bad guys who need it for "protection". The police rarely have problems with the "prepared" people since those people know the law and abide to it.

People in between "normal" and "prepared" usually have SAKs or LM multis.

I prefer a belt stud sheath like old time bowies.
Wish I knew how good these were sooner.
With the right size knife it can go IWB or in the pocket.
