How do you carry the big ones (they keep falling sideways in my pocket)?

This solution has been working for me for quite a while now...

+1

I have two sizes
The smaller is in a softer leather and easily holds a 3 3/4" knife
The larger is in a stiffer leather and easily holds a 4 1/4" trapper
Both my versions are sewn with a middle seem

The advantage of the middle seem is you can have the knife upright and at the same time choose which side of your back pocket you want the knife to rest.
So when I carry the knife in my right back pocket, the knife is on the right side of the pouch and is on the further right of the back pocket so I do not sit on the knife when I am sitting down.

Mnblade,
It was a regular Case trapper, now he carries a little 3 1/2''custom a guy down the road made.
He carried this one....

I put all my slipjoints in my right front pocket, vertically alongside my wallet. Never had any issue with them going horizontal that way.

Mine go in my left front pocket and they tend lie on thier backs resting, waiting for the chance to cut something. I like things that conserve their energy and expend it only on worthwhile projects, yeah, that it! Steven

I use one of Ron's backpocket sheaths also-they work great-keep the knife upright and I still have room for my phone in the same back pocket.
