How do you carry your EDC??

I was noticing that a lot of you people carry either some real big knives or just a boat load of stuff.

Me personally, my 4 inch Benchmade Leopard Cub is a pain in my thigh when its in my pocket. And I in general do not like things in my pocket. When I do wear jeans, I use the clip in the pocket thing.

So, do guys put them on a belt, clipped to a pocket, lanyard and let the lanyard hang out of a pocket.

Maybe a sheath, sheath in a pocket etc etc.

Am I missing something that would aid my comfort.

Nothing more uncomfortable that having my 4inch knife lay cross ways against my thigh when I am sitting(not clipped to my pocket, but just in the pocket)

You might be wearing pants that are too tight. I like loose fitting clothing, so I dont have the problem.
I carry a Busse Anorexic badger attack on my leg with a leather pocket clip sheath in the small pocket on my carpenter style jeans. thus it is always accessible without reaching, the handle is right at my hand when standing.

I also carry a Spyderco S30V Native clipped in my left pocket. and I carry a Glock 27 on my belt. none of it gets in my way.

This multi position sheath was made for me by On/Scene Tactical and works great..

When I am not wearing a belt I ordered a galco paddle I attach to it and slip it in the waist band..

Ive started carrying my randall model 1-6 on my belt w/o leg ties ( the leg tie sheaths suck i think) and a emerson cqc-8 cliped in pocket. sometimes the fixed blade gets in the way but i take it off alot along the day. once i get a sheath for my Busse SJT im going to be carrying that :D

my manix is clipped on my right front pocket of my jeans and my leatherman is in its sheath on my belt.

I have found that I'm not much of a sheath person, and have found that I don't like knives riding at the bottom of my pants pocket either. Been finding that I like thinner knives clipped to my pocket, like my Rat Trap, or even my Spyderco Military is thin enough. Got it clipped comfortably to the far corner of my Wrangler jeans.

Here's a pic of my Military:

for the heck of it, a shot of my Rat Trap AND Military. The Rat Trap rides alot lower, and a tad thinner, hardly notice it at all.

If I'm at work I carry my 707 in the pocket. I have nice little knife pouches that come sewn inside the pockets of my St. John's Bay pants for work. When I'm at home or off work I wear the 707 clipped to my pocket.

Various means, for me anyway. I carry two knives on my belt in sheaths (I prefer horizontal), and one in the front pocket, against the rear seem. Fixed blades, when I carry them, are on the belt as well.

When I'm wearing Levis and carry a knife with a clip I clip it in the watch pocket of my jeans. To make this fit I cut out the bottom seam of the watch pocket so that more than half the knife sticks through the bottom. This is handy, secure, doesn't snag on things, and doesn't get in the way when I reach into my pocket.

When I am wearing slacks I put my knife inside the back pocket where I keep my wallet. I stand it up between the side of the wallet and the side seam of the pocket. Carried that way I don't notice the knife, just the wallet.

Most of the time I am in slacks and tucked in shirts, I carry a small fixed blade either IWB on my strong side with the handle above my belt line or slipped thru my belt in the same spot. I also usually have a folder clipped to my front right pocket and or a small sak in either pocket loose. My fixed blade carry is open but fairly discreet and very rarely draws any attention at all. The fbs are usually pretty sedating looking knives with wood handles or colored g10 and the knives are rarely over 8 inchs in total length.

My EDC is clip RF pocket. Great pics. The above pics shows Spyderco proclivity to "show" the product. I prefer a lower profile clip a la BM Pika. If I needed to carry a big folder or small fb I would go for a horiz small-of the back custom sheath. Less exposure is better IMHO.

I usually carry my knife in my right hip pocket. I never notice they are there- even my large knives such as my Skirmish and Manix. However, that is when I am wearing jeans. When I am wearing shorts, space and weight become more of an issue and my large folders will be uncomfortable. That is when I use smaller knives like my Leek and Vapor. But when I am wearing jeans, my wallet is in my back pocket and keys in my left pocket, so my folder gets a pocket to itself, allowing for even big'uns like the Manix to ride comfortably.

For clipless knives such as my 110 or Mcusta, I use a belt sheath. I will also sometimes use a belt sheath for a knife with a clip because it won't get as linty inside the sheath as it will inside the pocket.

For slipjoints and SAKs, I just let them ride in the bottom of the pocket.

For fixed blades I use a belt sheath.

thanks for the watch pocket tip

I've gotten used to carrying mine IWB. It frees a pocket for other stuff, and by placing my cell phone over the clip, the knife is totally invisible, which is a bonus for an office environment where you don't want any questions about a blade.

Yeah, both of those tips are excellent.

Main blade is carried clipped to belt, right side next to a Leatherman Mini-Tool in a Balistic sheath. The smaller knife is clipped inside my left front jeans pocket. Both knives have fobs and are set up for tip-up carry.
Hows that? Did I cove all the bases?
