How do you carry your keys?

my keys are on a 2ft piece of para-cord, folded in 1/2 and tied into knots, which holds 2 swivel latches with split rings and a SAK ambassador.

I keep it in my right pocket sometimes in my backpack.

just today I took off my micro light, and put it on the rear view mirror. I just don't use it on my key chain.

Similar to above, mine is on a length of paracord. I loop mine over my belt so as to keep the keys (and Arc AAA, LM Micra, Jester, etc) suspended in my pocket. No bulge at the bottom of the pocket. Keys are easy access and secure. My car keys are kept on a stainless chain with clip in my other pocket. I no longer keep my car keys with my house keys.

Steeldriver:
You might find something at www.bisonbelts.com . Check out the "Nav-a-gate" in the (common carabiners)section. It's not a common biner. Has a slot for your keyrings at the bottom so you can't lose keys if you open the biner in the wrong orientation, and the weight of keys keeps it oriented correctly 99% o.t.t. and it comes in colors(to help avoid the janitor look). Or look at the "Triad" in the (custom carabiners) section. Has 3 gates for easy access to separate keyrings. Also, see the (key caddie) section for some different ideas. For those gadget geeks out there look up the "clip light" in the (flashlight) section; this combines an LED light with a regular carabiner. Hope this helps.

Good luck,
Mith.

By the way, all of the items I mentioned in the Bisonbelt website are shown in the section called "Aluminum Catalog". Also, the combo flashlight/biner is called the "Clip torch".

I USED to carry my keys on a kubotan too, until I tried to get on an airplane with them back in '98. You wouldn't believe how excited the minimum wage wannabes in airport security can get over a little piece of plastic. :D After 9/11 that would probably get you strip searched, arrested and detained as a terrorist.

mithril,

Thanks for the link; those look like some promising designs. Now I'm considering splitting up my car and house keys, maybe car keys on a clip/biner and the others on paracord. Don't want to have a foot of paracord dangling from the ignition when I drive! I'll probably end up experimenting with a bunch of ideas and see which one works best. Everything is cheap enough to buy and try out, that's the nice thing.

I have my car keys and house keys on two separate keychains. The car keys have the car remote, a traser glowring and a SAK Classic on them.

The house and office keys are put on two spilt rings that are mounted to a special carabiner called a mini-fire brigade biner from Kong in Italy. What makes it different from the usual carabiner is that one end is set up as a captured "eye" to hold the split rings in place and prevent them from slipping off the rest of the carabiner. This key biner also has a traser glow ring on it, but in a different color so that I can tell which is which in the dark. The key biner set up also has a fox 40 whistle on it and an ASP navigator LED light clipped on for good measure.

If your interested in carrying them on a Biner here is a new one from Kershaw Knives, called the National Geographic Tool?
