How do you carry your RAT

i have seen some good ideas but i think im going for the paracord and atachit to my belt
as it is easy adjustable between horisontal and vertical possition.
any one who usses the RC-3 the same way? and won't the knive fall out off the scheath?

I carried my RC-4 with the paracord beltloop method for quite a while before going with a Tek-Lok. Works very well for how simple it is.

The RC-3 sheaths have very good retention, I wouldn't worry about your knife falling out in a horizontal position except in pretty extreme situations.

if you have the molle backing option RC3/RC4 there is a stretchy band at the top of the molle back for covering the pommel you can carry inverted and never worry about losing the RC

thanks i do have the molle but that way i can't use the parracord
as the holes to use the parracord will be filled with the screws.
So the molle will stay home and ill use the parracord as i like it
that you can chance the setup anytime without a tool.

thanks everyone for sharing and any idea is still welcome.

I have one molle back I cut the strap off the back so I can wear it horizontal on my belt or vertical using the belt loop portion as well

I keep my Izula in my pocket with the cord around a belt loop.

My most carried RAT is my RC-4, thats on my belt with a Tek-Lok alot of the time.

My RC-6, I made up my own "ghettoMolle" for it and it rides on my thigh, but admittedly, I've only carried it once. Here's a pic.

WOW! That "ghettomolle" and the Leatherman "accessory" look badass together, just hardcore!

Izula is always in my pocket

RC-5 Strapped to my pack

My RC-3 is on a lil shoulder rig.

I like that. Simple and functional. By the way, my stripped Izula rides handle down in the left front pocket of my jeans. Static cord attached to the bottom of the sheath up to a beltloop. Has been every day carry since my wife allowed me to have it.

Anyone got a pic of the RC3 with Bootclip actually clipped to their boot?

I tried carrying it that way with both my Rocky boots and my work boots (Brahma's). Both have padding on the top, and the clip didn't have enough give to work. I think it'd work best on either Western Riding boots or slip on work boots. Anything with bigger padding and your better off ordering a third party clip.

I tried it on the inside of my Fry harness boots but it rode too high that it was awkward - the handle was 3/4 of the way up my calf. It was much more comfortable stuffed in my sock deep in my boot.

The clip seems much better suited for ankle boots.

Izula rides on my left hip with a Tek Lok.
RC-3 rides in my waistband with the included belt clip clipped to the belt.
RC-4 has the MOLLE backing and is carried on a drop platform on my right thigh.
All are carried vertically, handle up.

Hi

I'm interested in an RC-4 for my dayhikes.
But I'm not such a lucky bastard as most of you guys who live in the beautiful United States of America, instead I live in the Netherlands.
So, I can't just go and walk around with some kind of fixed blade hanging on my belt.
That's why I was wondering, is it possible to carry your RC-4 and 5 concealed without the need of wearing XXXXL shirts which cover up everything from your knees upwards.

BTW, I'd really like some pictures of you guys concealed carrying the RC-4 and RC-5.

Thanks,

Carry it inverted in a CRKT MercHarness. :)

Hello my netherlandic friend.

Don't get a misconception about knife carry here in the states. While the law might very well be on our side in alot of instances, even here in Texas I get looks from the masses when I wear my RC-4 exposed on my hip.

Most of the time, I just let my shirt hang over my knife and just the bottom inch or so sticks out. Most people either don't notice or have no clue what the black peice of plastic is.

Inside the waistband is a good concealed carry option or the harness as was already mentioned.

I carry my RC-3 in a Sharpshooter leather sheath, baldric style. Right now I'm just using a nylon belt with a quick release buckle, but it works very well.

Yep I carry mine on my boot. I use the boot clip and also tied it to the first eyelet. Something I learned on my first tour over here in 2003-2004. Had a cheap S&W boot knife then. Love this RC3 though

Thanks for the quick responses my American friens!
Is baldric style also possible with the standard kydex sheath?
Btw, is the Sharpshooter sheath that much better or is it just about looks?

Greeting from the Netherlands!

I'm sure with a bit of innovation you could figure out a way to rig up the stock sheath with a baldric.

As for the Sharpshooter sheath, it's pretty much about your tastes. Some prefer leather, some prefer synthetic.

The Sharpshooter is a really nice peice and with it's weatherproof coating, it's about as close to kydex as you can get as far as care is concerned.
