How do you carry your SAK?

Whenever I wear khakis or cargo pants, I use a Victorinox belt hanger for my Huntsman and Cybertool 34. The hanger just dangles in your pocket instead of letting the knife sit in your pocket like a rock. The belt hanger is godsend to SAK users everywhere.

Thanks for passing this information along, Buzzbait. That does look like a good solution for those of us who unfortunately spend most of our waking hours inside an office.

I agree with Buzzbait´s comment on the hanger, I use the same idea with a homemade belt loop, I tie decorative knots as a hobby and made my own, but I´ve seen the hanger (my brother uses one) and it is very good.

I use a leather belt loop with a snap and a swivel clip. The leather loop blends in with the wide belt holding up my jeans. The swivel clip holds a fist full of stuff that would otherwise sit in the bottom of my pocket like a rock.

My pocket Swiss Army is the Vic Midnite MiniChamp. Tiny. Non-threatening. Sheeple-friendly. Lots of tools.

My belt Swiss Army is the Vic CyberTool 41. Very capable. Lots of tools.

I've carried mine horizontally in a cordura belt pouch for years. The horizontal position keeps it more out of my way and leaves it less conspicuous too.

My preferred sheath for the larger SAKs is Eagle Industries' Folding Knife Sheath (KS-F). It's versatile, tough, and convenient. I've carried one every day for at least three years and it shows no signs of wear.

When you say "larger SAKs", how large is "large"? That sheath seems like something I might like be have.

Yea, I would like to know if the 8.5 layer cybertool 41 would fit in such a sheath...what specific SAK do you use and how much room is there?

I carried a Victorinox SwissChamp XLT in that sheath for several years. They don't make 'em much larger than that. :) The same sheath is currently holding my CyberTool 41.

If you're concerned about whether it will fit a WorkChamp XL (the only larger Victorinox I'm aware of) just let me know. I haven't tried it, but I do own one and would be perfectly willing to experiment.

Actually I was wondering it it'd be too big. I prefere smaller knives most of the time, Tinker and Chive size, etc.

I do like the horizontal carry and the flap to keep stuff from falling out though.

For medium SAKs, and most tacticals, I recommend the Triple Aught Design S1 Knife/Accessory Pouch. It's a lot slimmer than the Eagle sheath, but equally secure and well made.

I've carried a pair of S1 Pouches for a couple of years now. One currently holds (just barely) my SOG PowerLock. The other holds a spare magazine for my P7 and a PocketWrench II.

And yes, I really do wear that many belt pouches all the time. :) Even to work. In fact, my normal attire includes the three I've mentioned above plus a horizontal neoprene cell-phone sheath from The Pouch.
