Or here horseback at a ranch roping competition. This method is secure, comfortable, compact and easily accessible to either hand.
Also out of the way when very active. If ya look close under my wife's elbow ya see one while she's branding one of our calves and my friend Ty has got one too. He's a lefty and has it on his right side.
