+3 on the Safepacker!

I've been using mine for about 4 years, and I love it!

Third eye.

The bigger pack in the last photo is a Kifaru ZXR (my favorite so far for outdoors use, but that may change with the 3700 I ordered), the smaller pack in the other photos is a Kifaru Molle Express. The MEx has been to many countries with me as I also use it as a carry on bag then as a EDC bag when I get where Im going. Concidering I made 7 cross ocean round trips last year it has its fair share of miles on it, plus the many day hikes I have taken it on and it still looks new. However they are pricey.

Other Kifaru items I own... EMR pack, MANY pockets/ pods/ pullouts/ stuffsacks etc. Also own a supertarp with annex, paratipi, sawtooth (unused since I just got it late last month), 8man tipi (also got it the same time as the sawtooth). A small, medium, and large stove with accessories. A 0 degree MOB bag, a 20 degree slick bag, and a pair of his std weight pants. Really want a vest with sleeves, but they are no longer being made. Need to wait till this fall to hopefully be able to order them, but I own plenty of jackets so Im not hurting, but like his lightweight products and designs.

Still waiting on my KU3700 with KUpods and KUlong pockets and a 0degree slick bag, weights under 3lbs, where as the MOB weights in at 4lbs exactly, but the MOB can couple to either the 20 or 0 for extreme winter camping... cant wait for time off to do so!

I have carried the same way that spoolup has shown while backpacking. While I think it's a good solution, I don't like the fact that you have to disconnect it to keep your firearm with you every time you drop your pack.
I am considering mounting the Safepacker or the TT Lunar to a drop-leg panel.

A condor Molle first aid pouch holds an inside the waist band holster for my Kahr PM-9. Quick access, mounts on belt easily and will not break the bank. There are elastic bands in the pouch that hold the holster and spare mags in place.

In your jacket pocket - no false suits, or concern - no one knows but you

Yet they wonder. They also know it takes you 5 seconds as well as, seeing your print

Don't fool yourself - fool them

Looks like the Safepacker is pretty popular around here. I haven't found a better way to carry concealed, keep your gun clean/protected, and still be fast on the draw. I have their shoulder strap as well and when I'm around camp I usually take the Safepacker off the belt and carry it with a strap.

I also found a nice place for my .380 TCP (in my Maxpedition 10x8 with the Safepacker shoulder strap):

I leave my bigger handguns at home when I'm in the woods and only carry the ones I use for EDC around town:
Sig P239 (.40 S&W) and Taurus TCP (.380 ACP). The Taurus is one of their new pistols made 100% in the USA and is surprisingly nice and extremely concealable:

yeah if anything, where concealed carry is legal, you'd think open carry would be. plus if your out camping, in the serious wilderness, you should have a shotgun, could just be double barreled, or a rifle with you at all times in case of wildlife. Park rangers and officials actually suggest it; in alaska and northern maine, they tell you to keep one out with you in the front of your car at all times.

Open carry, 4 legged animals scare me quite a bit more than the 2 leggers, you can jab most 2 leggers with a neck knife and they go down and call the cops on you (the person they were trying to mug) A 4 legger other than a squirell or the like will not do such a thing.

I carry in an on the waistband holster with a cover shirt or jacket or I drop my handgun inside the CCW pocket of my Maxpedtition Fatboy. I really like the Fatboy carry as I can actually have my hand on the gun ready to draw and it only looks like I am reaching inside my man purse :D Kinda liked it when I walked off a trail and interrupted a dude looking into my truck. Glad I wasn't 5minutes later! I have run into animals a few times in my life but it's the times I have had issues with the two legged kind that keep me armed in town and trail. Luckily I have never had to shoot.

I CC my GLOCK 27 everywhere...so when hiking I use the same comfortable Crossbreed supertuck rig. Most of the time I don't wear a backpack on day hikes...as my essentials are carried in my vest. But if I were to get into multi-day backpacking trips I would definately consider either a safepacker or a lower holster platform. I wear a shoulder holster rig when biking or running - I find they don't work with a pack on...and they are much slower to deploy than a good belt holster. (don't mind my messy basement in the background;))
