How do you choose which knife or knives you carry...and how many?

There are around ten user poket knives from which I could choose.
Over the last weeks I focused more and more on the same blade (worn in a sheath),
it became some sort of a talisman for me.
If there are trousers with coin pants I'll put my edc in there and take in addition one of my unused collectibles in the sheath.

I seldom really think about what knife I'm going to carry for the day. (If I am wearing the same pair of pants, the knife is already there.) It's usually a SAK. Sometimes will have another traditional or modern paired with the SAK. In those cases, I may carry a smaller SAK and it's mostly there for the non-cutting tools that I often use. For the last year, I have had a Leatherman Squirt PS4 attached to my keys and in my pocket with rare exceptions.

If I am headed for the woods, I'll ponder which fixed blade I'll wear along with a folder. The folder is usually the same folder I might carry day to day. It usually will be one of my favorites.

Lately it's been one of these. Haven't been carrying any of my clipped one handed openers lately. Enjoying the traditional slip joints. The Alox Classic has been a back pocket staple and then I'll throw in whichever one of the others is calling to me.
Alox Classic, Buck 305, Buck 309, modified Opinel #8, and an Alox Pioneer.
