How do you choose your carry every day? Plus my collection!

I've seem to have developed a bit of an addiction this year...http://imgur.com/xM4uQzx

From left to right:
- BM 710 SBK
- Paramilitary 2
- Blur S30V
- ZT 0770
- Southard
- BM 940
- Delica 4 FRN
- CRK Small Sebenza 21 Insingo
- BM Ritter Mini-grip
- BM 707
- Kershaw Chive

How do you choose which knife you pick up from your collection every day?

In descending order of frequency, I carry: CRK, Mini-Grip, 940. I'll carry the 707 when I'm dressed up and going out, my Delica 4 when I'm on the mountain and might lose it, my Para2 for camping. The ZT and Southard just arrived today, so I'm not sure how they'll fit into my routine. I actually prefer the ZT to the Southard, but perhaps it's because I really like the ZT so far.

Perhaps I just have too many knives...

I had that zt and liked the southard much better, my current carry which hasn't changed for a couple months is the spyderco lum tanto. I have a small collection of somewhat unique knives but I bought them all looking for the one knife that would be my perfect edc and since I got the lum, I haven't carried anything else.

Here is a pic of my collection, I like yours too by the way, great taste.

Traded the BM grip (found it too bulky for edc) in a round about way for a BM darkstar 880 which is on route and picked up a black on black lum tanto as a back up to the grey one.

I only have a small collection so far, but enough that I have to choose between knives before leaving the house. I suppose my "real" EDC is my SOG Trident, because it's in the pocket of my work pants every single day that I work, but I never carry it otherwise - I choose from the rest of my collection based on how I'm dressed and where I'm going.

I have a few in my key bowl (where I keep my stuff), and cannot leave my CRK at home.....

I just let the spirit move me, and pick what i feel like picking. Go with your gut.

Maybe if i know I'm gonna cook, hunt, go somewhere fancy/on a date, etc. Ill choose accordingly.

I go William Henry at work and Sebenza while at home, in the shop or working outside. Lately there has not been much rotation. Always a B10 Lancet at work and 25 when not at work. One of these days I will switch to another William Henry and back to a 21.

Your question could lead one to insanity. :)
My EDC must feel PERFECT and the design has to be purpose-driven.
Today, it's my PM2.
My other perfect folder is Emerson, HD7 or Commander.

I only have 1 EDC, a few I keep in spots at work or in the car, the rest are just for the collection since I like collecting things. It does keep things easy.

I only have one EDC also, like mars51. I buy/sell/trade knives for fun, but only carry the Umnumzaan.
If I didn't carry the Zaan, it would be my large Sebenza. Both are the best I've ever experienced.
Nearly all of these folders have been gone for a long time...things change.

I have a very small collection of folders compared to most of the people here (5 and 1 more on the way) and I only have one knife that I haven't talked myself into using yet. This makes it so much easier compared to when I had 30-40+ knives. I usually just go with whatever one I am feeling at the time and how deep of a carry I want.

I am similar to Sonnydaze in the fact that I buy/sell/trade alot for fun. I have gone through alot of knives and have a pretty good idea of what I like to carry because of it.

I try to adapt the knife I'm carrying to the environment and the likely or possible blade-related needs of it. My suburban/office EDC has been a white mini-Griptilian. My rural high desert EDC is the Paramilitary 2 or Nakamura 484 (+Buck 119.)

Well, I always have my ESEE Izula on my belt because it is a great backup blade. I always have my SAK on my keys because it is perfect for my keys and the tools are very useful day to day. Now as far as folders, that's a different story :D If I'm going to be riding my bike (BMX) or working, I will carry my Kershaw Shallot. Other wise I carry what ever I'm in the mood for carrying. Its nice to have a different blade for every day of the week and then some :D

My folders are stored mostly in containers (I use old vintage wooden wine and cigar boxes mainly) that each give me from 8-12 knives for a couple weeks' rotation.

After that time they go back in the vault and I work another box for a couple of weeks.

As to the daily decision I just open a box and pick what feels best to me for that day. I try to keep a variety of different use/style knives in each box.

I'd say the Grayman siblings get the most carry; the Sebenzas the least.

I decide how much weight I want to carry and where I'm going and what I'm doing and then grab my knife and gun combo for that outing. The good thing is I don't leave the house often so I don't gotta make the choice frequently....lol.

Depends entirely on the pants I'm wearing!
If I'm wearing jeans, I carry the Combat Troodon.
For shorts, a Benchmade 530.
Dress pants, a Mini Socom.

Currently I have about 20 folders. I used to carry a different folder every day unless it was new and might carry it for a week or so. Now I carry what ever looks or feels good the hand that day and recently have been carrying the same folder for 2 or three days. Their my knives and I can do what ever I want. I have been carrying my El Patron for the last 3 days, love this knife, I may carry it tomorrow!

I put mine in order and each Monday morning I select the next one on the list to carry that week. That way all of them get carried equally and I don't have to agonize over it.

At work it's the same 550 I've carried for two years. If I'm not at work, I rotate between my tsf beast and my bm barrage. Tsf cct.always is always in my back pocket.
