How do you clean up your crusty rusty ol slipjoints?

I have had great luck with Kroil for bad rust, frozen screws, bolts, joints, etc. I have never used it on wood/bone etc, only on metal, so I don't know if it would damage such surfaces. I would be careful. But KROIL will help with the metal bits!! The best penetrating oil I have ever used, it seems to actually creep under the rust and help lift it off.
