How do you "creatively finance" this habit?

Sincere question, so no nonsense, please.

How do you creatively finance you knife habit. Do you buy low, sell high? Do you sharpen knives for a fee? Do you make your own knives to sell? Sheath making?

For me, I make custom wood handles. It helps fund the next purchase and if I am careful I don't ever tap the family budget for a knife purchase.

However, I run into guys ALL THE TIME who say things like, "If I buy that my wife will disown me!" Or, "I'll have to sneak this one into the house so I don't get caught."

If you have ways that you carefully and creatively finance this hobby/habit, how do you do it?

The words "grand larceny" and "assault and battery" get thrown around a lot.

Currently, it's difficult. I'm on SSI and SSDI, but thankfully I've a decent amount of savings and moved in with my parents when I first got ill July of 16.

I sold of all but 10 of my knives. I used to catch and release s lot, but before the short marriage (1 year before I filed) I was making enough money to support a healthy habit. Or habits I should say. Now, it's savings and birthday/Holiday gifts.

I'm home most of the time, and my mother doesn't really care too much, but my dad, if he knew, wouldn't be so thrilled. She actually bought me my Bailey model 2. However, I'm content now with what I have. During that marriage, I didn't buy a single knife. Couldn't afford it.
