How do you display / store your collection?

Sounds good, I had actually JUST paid the dang thing and re-read it. Guess it takes a day to update my account. Hopefully it slides!

Go up top right to "Settings". Once there, go down the list on the left to "Permission Groups". You can activate it there and it'll show right now.
It says it takes 72 hours, but you can change it yourself.

In any event, it ain't no big deal. I've been a bad boy numerous times on this site. Have five infractions or warnings to my name, four of them expired, the last expiring in two days. So don't sweat it. We all gotta be bad now and then. ;-0

I store my knives rather than display them. Most of the ones I don't use or have little interest in are dumped in a Rubbermaid tub along with the boxes if I have it. I have others stored in a metal cabinet on shelves where I also keep my ammunition and other gun odds and ends. Some lie on my desk at home... maybe a dozen at the moment.

You get points taken off for forum infractions? Is this America or China? Well, I suppose America has the highest incarceration rate worldwide....

Sure, this is the only site I know of, of all the ones I participate in, that does so. Like I said, no big deal. IMHO.
Just go to your profile. Up top you will see "Infractions". If you get one, the mods send you a pm spanking you. ;-)
It only becomes a problem if you get too many, could end up getting the boot.

I have a humidor full of cigar boxes. But they are all full of stogies. Hark! I hear one calling me to light up right now. ;-)

I do keep my titanium frame locks in a CAO Soprano's Series collector cigar box. Black velvet lined.

This is how it it comes new. ;-)

Is that a benchmade skirmish? my holy grail :(

I use a Pelican 1450, but am currently looking into a display case. I would post pics here of it but uploading photo's doesn't work.

I keep very few knives around 5 productions and 10customs wont usually ever go over that because every knife I buy now I want to be perfect and know I want to keep its forever.
If I can part with the knife I will.
So when I find a keeper I hand make a wood display box for that knife and ask the maker of the customs if they can engrave their name into the box for me if they cant I get it professionally done w/ the name of the knife and the makers name....

I try to keep my "collection" down to ten knives or so. They are basically my only valuable possessions so I keep them stashed around the house separately in their original boxes. I figure if I were burgled at least all my sharp eggs wouldnt be in the same basket.
:-)

Natedog I think we would all like to see pictures of your custom boxes please.

I store my Spyderco's in my Pelican 1450 case. Top Row across and down to bottom Complete set of Para2's. DoDo's (except can't seem to put my hands on all black one). Complete set of Salsa's. Complete set of Manix2 Sprint runs. All Sage knives and all on bottom row all of my Spydie "Q" knives. Thanks for looking. P.S. I will be selling most of my collection soon. I have a wedding to pay for.

My wife got me this display as a gift once i started really getting into knives. I love it, every drawer locks. It takes 3 different keys in different locations. The top is a shadowbox so you can view your favorites. Solid real wood with felt lined drawers to avoid scratches and everything. Its one of the nicest knife displays cabinets i have seen.

Very cool, I would love to get something similar to this. Honestly though I think I'll probably end up going the Pelican case route.

Keep mine in one of my Safes ~~ well come to think of it I have Knives in all my Safes as I ran out of room and right now all the same Makers are not all together but spread from one Safe to another and I hate the thought of trying to straightening
things out.* Guess they will stay that way for awhile.*

Old silverware boxes for a few of mine:

I'm also working on another small storage box out of russian birch plywood; it should be pretty decent once it's finished...

Well you know there's various piles that accumulate various places. Sometimes you have to shift them off somewhere. Recently I made a couple large piles to make some room. Then there is the growing axe pile problem.

I use a Rubbermaid organizer with three drawers that I picked up from Walmart. I lined the drawers with the soft roll material you use in kitchen cabinets. That way knives aren't sliding around and getting scratched up.

I'm in the weasels camp. I have a few vintage in display cases but the ones I use are in this, courtesy of Sears.

I use this Craftsman case. Plastic frame with metal drawers. I keep the knives and stuff I EDC in the first drawer. Then I have some knives that I don't EDC in the lower drawers.
