If you are a knife collector, how do you display your collection?? I've seen the display cases for folders - glass encased box that can hold 20-30 pocket knives suitable for hanging on a wall. But, how do you display the longer fixed blade knives?? Pictures of your display would be great. "A picture is worth a thousand words.".

Don't display mine, keep 'em locked in a rolling toolchest.
Ditto here.

It's nowhere near as secure as a real safe, but I settled on it as a mixture of advantages and disadvantages.

An old egg basket i got from my mother. (i live in the country)

I don't need to display really, i just switch out one edc to another. I Don't buy anything i don't plan on using! lol

Keep mine in a roll. Other than four swords on the wall on pegs all my knives are kept away except for my EDC.

In a lockable display case I made.

i find a lot of people use those rolling large metal tool chests. i am not crazy about that idea,i always think someone would come along & roll your whole collection away in one shot......

Most are in the gunsafe but I do have one nice display case on the livingroom wall that holds six fixed blades and I can switch them out as I like. Google "dorriswood creations"
he makes a whole variety of knife display cases (he made mine) and really does beautiful work.

Not with just one guy, and not without a truck waiting outside. Even the 'small' chests that sit on top of the rolling cabinets would be difficult for one person to carry easily.

Plus, since the tool chests are closed a locked, a stranger in the house wouldn't even know what's inside them.

And (security-wise) anything is better than a glass display or knives laying around loose.

Naturally, (security-wise) a heavy gun safe would be best. But they're very expensive, heavy (would fall though my floor), non-expandable, and difficult to organize/view the contents.

I keep mine in this but my collection is beginning to get much larger. I think the next step is shadowboxes to hang on the wall

I have a few out in the bottom of a gun cabinet but I guess I'm a bit paranoid. I am very attached to my collection and keep them in a fire rated gunsafe. I do wish I could keep them out so I could see them more often but the risk outweighs the reward for me.

I may lay some of my nicer ones out in my safe so that I can see them every day when I'm in there. Right now they are almost all wrapped up and tucked away in cases.

Hmm, maybe some kind of illuminated display inside my safe?? I'll have to work on that one.

Mine are all hanging on pegs on the living room wall. 46 knives, 30 of them Randalls. Very impressive. And yes, they're insured.
