How do you finish your edges?

Thanks for the reply. I think the WE is great. I plan on keeping the system. I will find a set of the ceramics online and order.

I am a big fan of the chosera's for the WE, but if you wnt to go ceramics go for the gusto and order both the micro fine and 1200/1600. Then I and other WE owners would suggest a grinding order of 1.4 > 1200 > 1600 > .6 it will leave you with a very, very pretty and a "Wicked Edge"!

If I was going to buy two more sets of stones to get really refined edges before stropping would you suggest a couple of the Chosera's over the ceramics?

I have both sets. Not bragging just saying? I really do prefer the finish of the chosera's compared to the ceramics. I think those that have both on the WEPS forum agree on that. How ever price is pretty different. You can get an excellent finish from the ceramics and they do have their place. The reflective quality is just that much better. If I were you go on the forum and ask for a few opinions or Google "Wicked Edge chosera's vs ceramics". You should get some good info that way? If you want email me and we can talk further. rockdawg57 at gmail dot com

Lately, I've been finishing my edges at the 600 grit stones to experiment with a "toothier" edge. So far, so good. I always finish after that with my Stropman strops loaded with his red compound. The results are a very satisfying sharpness. Different than edges finished at 1600 grit, but still wicked sharp.

Do you feel like the Chosera's are better than the stock WE stones? I've been contemplating whether to invest in these, but they are pricey.

EDIT: Disregard, I just read your second post.

Thanks for the input. I will research the Chosera's some more but seems they might be worth the extra investment. Thanks again.
