How do you fix a bowed handle???

I sure would like to pick your brains someday I have a really nice stave I would like to build a bow out of.
It's not dissimilar to choosing wood for an axe handle. You'll want optimal grain orientation and no runout. If your blank was split to follow the grain (vs sawn) you're off to a good start.

Send me a message. I'll help as much as I can.
Sorry osage outlaw, I didn't mean to 'jump the gun' on you regarding that initial post. I've seen enough of your stuff to know you're better versed on properties of wood than the most of us.

The way I do it with a heat gun. Note the shim under the heat gun so I don't burn my work top more than I already have. I just leave the gun running as I work on other projects and then tighten the clamp down after a half hour or so. Its not as fool proof of a method as steam nor as efficient but I still do it this way most of the time because its convenient. Lots of ways to screw this up though (and I have done most of them). So you have been warned.
