Hi all,

I've seen "shiny" titanium finishes but the finish I'm looking for on a custom folder is a dull grey finish.

Is done by bead blasting or anodising?

Thanks,

Bead blasting will give u a dull grey finish. You can get a browny grey finsh by anodizing.

Bead-blasting always gives me a bright look on Ti -- what type of media gives the "dark" look?

i hear boiling oxyclean will grey TI up maybe almost black there were some threads in the tool shead a long while back about it
hope it helps

I don't know how dull you want it, but unless it's polished, it seems pretty dull gray to me right from the mill.
If you're looking for a dark finish, Lloyd is right, there was some discussion on special effects on Ti a few months ago.
