Hey guys. I was wondering how you guys deal with your pockets getting torn up from pocket clips.
It's like my pants and shorts are nice, but I always got this right pocket that looks like chewed up raw hamburger.. haha

It's not even like I'm switching between a DGG SnG and a Recon 1.. I generally carry knives that aren't too bad on pockets (Ti framelocks)

Anyway, my old lady sews them sometimes, but they don't last very long. Does anybody have a pro-mender in the family that would share some pocket mending secrets? (material and thread they're using)... or other solutions?

Thanks!! Lemme know!

When I pull my knife out, I pull up and out on the pocket clip with my index finger. Takes a lot of stress off the clip so it slides out easy.
It keeps the pocket from getting as chewed up.

I just wear jeans and Carhartt work pants and I don't seem to have any issues personally. When I wear nice pants, I don't clip a knife to them. I drop a small gentlemen's in the pocket.

I don't clip knives to my pockets

Well now, that's one way to avoid the shredding. ;)

I have some torn up pockets on some work pants, not a big deal really. I found some iron-on patches at Wallys that are cheap and seem to fix the problem with a little sewing and an iron.

I do believe that there are better pants for carrying knives.. but most are really not my style..

So nobody gets them mended? I just know my grandma would bust them out in 5minutes.. nowadays, I guess that's not the case.
Keep em comin guys..

If the clips were stamped and not properly de-burred they have sharp edges.

Pull the clips off and sand it all smooth.

I wear Levi-type pants daily. Sebenzas do NOT cause a problem in that way for me.
However, I have a BenchMade 775 that has an outrageous clip and G10 handle that would tear up scrap iron. I NEVER carry that knife. IT was a gift that I asked for; biggest mistake in yrs.

I have a pretty small collection of pretty nice fit/finish knives.. couple Strider, Hinderer, Shirogorov, CRK.. I always check for that and they're pretty clean. Good idea though, thanks! I think it's just the constant in and out switching of knives and using them all the time at work. Plus, it's not like I wear 20 pairs of pants.. I generally rotate the same 5 pairs of shorts/pants..

Need all that money for knives.. hahahh
