How do you guys fix your torn up pockets??

You could get a small denim (or other matching/contrasting cloth) patch with a heat adhesive on the backing - fold it over the clip area and press with an iron to get a reinforced layer there. But I've never really had a problem with the pockets getting torn up. More often the clip will snag a jacket inside lining or something and do its damage there. I've gone to pocket sheathes and clipless blades mostly.

Very nice guys!! I'm gonna show my old lady this and get these shorts back on the road. BTW, mine are wayy worse than those pictures.. hahah..
Thank you very much though. I'm gonna try it.

I like my denims to look used so I take the real bad denims to a seamstress near my office - About $10 each to have them reenforced with zigzag stitching when needed. She will sometimes add a patch of denim for extra structure on the really bad ones. They come out looking great and last another year or so each time. I let them get frayed pretty good before I take them though. A frayed right hip pocket is my signature trademark :)

Every year I buy 5 pairs of jeans. I rotate them and am in a newer pair for a while. By the time a year rolls around, it is time to buy 5 more pair of jeans. Jeans are cheep. Knives are expensive.

Carrying mostly slip joints in one pocket and keys in the other, some pockets wear out faster than others. After repairing these many times over, I just bought material to rebuild 5 or so pockets. Spring is almost here and the extra pockets from wearing a coat are going away. A project I can't put off any longer.

I did the iron on patch until I found the Riggs pants & shorts. I have always liked numerous pockets to put stuff in. The iron on patches do work very well and cost very little.

Someone else here mentioned them. Rigs work pants by Wrangler, they have a leather patch in place where your clip would normally rest. Sure the pants aren't fashionable but they can stand tall against the abuse.
Personally I clip my knife to any jeans an when the pocket starts to look bad.... they get moved to my "work jeans" drawer and I get a new pair to replace em.

I have had more of an issue with tape measures destroying pockets than knives. A 25" Stanley will wear ot a pocket quicker than any knife I have.
