How do you handle security personal and metal detectors??

I don't know what "Proof of Life" is, but I'll take your word for it! I think the Wave might be one of the lesser lights in that regard, though. I think I could do some sentry removal with my Supertool without even opening it -- just hit him in the head with that slab of steel.

The question came up earlier in this thread about gun rights in Israel. In today's Jerusalem Post, they had a brief report on the numbers:

75% more Israelis apply for gun permits
By Etgar Lefkovits

With violence raging on the streets of Israel, the Interior Ministry has been inundated with a 75 percent increase over the last year in requests by citizens for permits to carry a weapon.

The number is expected to rise even further due to easing of restrictions to bear private firearms that is now going into effect.

According to figures released today, the ministry received 7,790 request for permits to carry arms last year compared to 4,417 the year before.

Despite the increase in requests for permits, the authorization level has remained virtually the same - hovering at about 60% both years, with 4,588 of last year's requests authorized, compared to 2,550 of those made the year before last.

In all, a total of 265,325 Israeli civilians currently have legal permits to carry fire arms.

((That's out of a population of about 6,000,000, 80% of whom are Jews))

Esav, it is the movie with Meg Ryan and Russel Crowe. Crowe takes out a guard with a multitool blade. It is pretty funny when you saw all the gear he packed for the mission.

I could swear I saw something about this subject, of using a multi-tool as a tactical weapon, when I ventured onto Vampire Gerbal's homepage. Am I mistaken?

Yeah, I was right. I just found it right now. Man that VG is one funny Bastid!!!:p

Here it is:

Yeah, afterall that sheepsfoot serrated blade is such a stabber for sentry removal  :barf:

Carry a multitool, and a flashlight right next to it - if questioned say it's for repairs.

Esav, I've bought the wave today and it's great. It has a charm to it, like the SAK, and unlike the other leatherman line. It isn't tactical as such, but is capable for such work, and that is important these days. After further inspection I'll give my evaluation.
Thanks a lot, it's always nice to have a good advice. :)

Shmulik, all blades on civilians are banned in Finland as well, and that doesn't stop half the male population carrying multitools.

But then again, knife laws seem like the smallest of your problems in Israel :(

Anyone who tries to test any type of security, be it Airport, Military, Court House, Etc. is just asking for trouble. If I am going to court, I leave my knife in the car even when I bring my pistol in the the courthouse. I just don't want the controversy. Do what you will though.
