Collection is starting to grow, and the file cabinet drawer is about to fill up. Don't want to stack my knives on top of each other, so I'm looking for suggestions for safe (for the knives), compact storage. Thinking about a tool chest with shallow drawers. Any other thoughts or ideas...even brand/style oftool chests that work for you??

All loose in a tool box.

I am thinking something like this though:

Maybe line the drawers with some foam.

Those tool boxes are nice and all. But if someone ever broke in all they would have to do is pick it up and walk out with it looking like a repair man.
Unless you had a ton of infi, but that still would'nt stop thieves. I just keep mine in a twelve hundred pound safe.

You have to get the BIG standing tool box that is way too big to pick up. :D

In my man cabinet along with my folders and surefires and electronic odd and ends:

They are in the plastic bin on the left on the upper shelf:

I've been thinking of storage ideas as well, the toolbox idea wouldn't be a bad one (if theft is not a concern, as others have stated). I would think Craftsman would have some reasonably priced options. Specifically the top chests if you don't want wheels.

I would look at one of the small fire proof safes. They can be very inexpensive for the amount of protection they can offer.

I can shoot thieves, but fire is a nasty thing:(

Being a Die Hard Hog I had to have a Fort Knox in honor of Knob Creek;)

Well, my users of the moment are where they are...well...used. For instance, my SH-E in its sheath on my field pack. My SHBA in my travel bag. A Cultie in the kitchen. You get the idea.

The others awaiting their rotation are safely stored away...;)

Skunk, you're just trying to make us feel unworthy . . . and doing a pretty good job.

Since the drawers are open though I'll take the Paul's Hatchet LE, a Lean Mean and the satin/black paper ZTBM.

Thank you very much! :D:D

idahoskunk!!! That is incredible!!!! You got some Bacon in there!!! My favorite is that Busse Folder!!!

If you've got the right location, you could use a couple of bolts to secure your tool chest to the wall like you do with the cheaper gun safes.

Well, at least we know if the crap hits the fan all we need to do is go to Skunks house. Good lord man, that's a huge collection
