How do you justify spending hundreds of $ on a traditional?

I've liked Traditionals since I got my first knife when young, and started liking some Moderns in the early 90's.
I like them both a great deal.

I feel just the opposite as you though. I've sold all of my Custom moderns because I prefer a plain Sebenza over all I had even though some cost twice as much. You can also get a modern production with about any steel you want these days, and you can't do that with a production traditional. I'll never buy another custom modern folder. No need for it IMO.

I have two Custom Traditionals and another on order. I sure won't be selling those as you can't get a production Traditional with the quality of a custom, IMO.
I doubt I'll be buying more custom Traditionals, but if I was a richer man I would have about ten more on order,lol.
