I had the same problem but I actually liked the thicker blade. I sent mine back with a note asking them to "just sharpen it". Well when I got it back it was the thinner blade. Now I wished I had just kept it and sent it off to have somebody else sharpen it. They maybe would've read the note. And to be fair I probably would've been okay wih the thinner blade but having seen and felt the balance of the thinker blade I just wanted that one. I just wanted Busse to make "it" right. That particualar one right soba sharper edge. Well I was bummed because of all the shipping and waiting and I reallly wanted to call Jerry. Was just too much at that point since I had bought and sent back a handful of others. I had sent the note specifically asking for it to be sharpened and that's all. Sosartre a while I stuck it my closet for a few weeks hopein to pull it out in a year or so and be happy with it. Jist kept bugging me and eventually I just sold the knife. I just wasn't happy with the whole process. And what's bad is that I reallly, really wanted that knife for EDC. I'm still kinda bummed about it but I still want a SAR3. Kind of a weird feeling...
Mine had nothing to do with the edge or sharpening of the knife. If it needed sharpening...I would have sharpened it.
Mine had an issue with the grind. I am really happy with it actually, because I got a (IMO) better knife out of the deal.
