I'm helping develop a knife with some friends and we're considering having serrations on the blade. I'm not sure if the guy forging the blade has the tools for it, to make them during the forging process (that is, if that's how serrations are made into blades). We are working with Bohler N695 steel.

If your only doing one knife the easiest way is to forge the blade normally. Then put your serrations in with round files in the finishing process.Different size files can be used for different styles.Hope this helps.Dave:)
