How do you manage to rotate?

I'll pick what I think will be the most suited tool for the day.
On days I need to do a lot of heavier work, a sturdier folder s what I will go for.
A hike will require something a bit different due to the fact that I will also be carrying a larger fixed blade.
In my suit I will use a more traditional and less agressive looking kife.
And so on and so on

I just carry one until I miss another, then switch. Usually it just bounces between my lg sebenza 21 cf, spydie military and Benchmade grippy. Used to be my spydie caly 3 cf but I don't really carry it much anymore.

I got a small white cabinet on top of my dresser with my knife maintenance stuff. I set tomorrows edc blade on the top shelf before i go to bed and grab it in the morning. I usually end up favoring my Cold Steel Ak-47 though haha.

I have a problem. I have a half dozen beautiful mid to high end knives, and i want to carry ALL of them, all the time... obviously that's not practical, so I consider rotating them to be the next best option, but it just doesn't seem to HAPPEN. I end up carrying my Zermeno everywhere and the rest of them just get pulled out and fondled periodically. I don't know why this happens. I like all of them pretty much equally, but the Azrael seems to end up in my pocket pretty much every day. When i am playing with them, i commit to rotating, but in my half asleep morning stupor, i just grab the Azrael, and stumble out the door...


What am i doing wrong?

Put a different knife where you normally keep your edc put the rest away. I know what you mean at 4:45 A.M. I just grab what ever is next to my wallet and keys.

Either alone or with another one in the other pocket

The knives I carry are tied into what I'm wearing, and that's determine by what I'm doing.

Certain folders carry better in some pants the others.

The knife I carry in my jeans to a job-site will be bigger then a knife I will slip into a pair of slacks when I' headed to a meeting.

Fixed blades tend to be assigned to different belts; as with folders, the nature of my attire will dictate my belt and knife combo.

Over time I do tweak the combinations to suit my changing needs and desires.


EDC is an ever changing landscape as far as I'm concerned.

I just keep all the ones in my rotation sitting on my nightstand. Before I leave in the morning, I grab one at random.
