For those of you who pack a side arm in the bush, what is your prefered method of carry?
Strong side, cross draw, shoulder rig or concealed? Leather, nylon, kydex or other?

Pics would be nice

No pics available, but I carry a shortened Wally World 20-ga I bought lashed to the side of my pack.

I'll have to get pictures later, but I like leather, but Kydex is a great outdoors holster material. The biggest issue is if you're packing a pack with a waist belt...than you have to get creative. I'm really thinking about a Safepacker for the waistbelt and keep the kydex for when we hike around after we set up the base camp. IWB is a little too uncomfortable for hiking and scrambling, so I usually switch to a strong side (right for me) OWB holster. I've used a shoulder rig for my Ruger .44 when hunting, but it's not something I've considered for backpacking.

Depends on what my outdoor activity is going to be but here is one of my favorite set-ups-
Glock19 / Uncle Mikes kydex holster
Ontario RAT-3 , ColdSteel ProLite , Vic. SAK

If I'm on my ATV then I carry my Ruger MKII Stainless Target model crossdraw ;)

Lately I have been carrying in a Maxpedition Jumbo. It has a pocket just for that purpose. When I am not hiking around or if the Jumbo is not on me then I use a belt holster on the right hip. The bag carry is nice though for sheeple country or when it looks like trouble may be coming your way....I can unzip and reach inside and have the gun in hand and no one knows it but me. To others it looks like I might be looking for a Snickers in my "purse" :D

Hope that thing's not TOO short...

I usually put a pistol inside the pack somewhere I can reach it easily, but not at all visible.
