If I could find some ideas I could take them to my dad and he could make me a nice case of out pallet wood or something. Problem is it would have to be pretty big. May check around and see what I can find, I can take the rest of my dresser up with that since most of it is already a watch display case with one watch in it
I store my stainless knives in a drawer as is, I keep my carbon steel knives out of the sheath in the same drawer, and occasionally wipe them down and oil them. I also make sure to clean and dry all my knives before I store them, even a stainless knife will stain if you leave stuff on it too long I find.
I have mine in a drawer when not in use. As stated earlier I leave the stainless in their sheaths and I've left of my one carbon steel knives in its sheath for 40+ years without rusting.... sure has a nice patina tho
Of course I have a temperature and humidity controlled . . .
er
that is to say I have a room with a safe and infrared sensing . . .
actually a lot of them spend time on my little bubinga coffee table near the couch
I have a pile of thinly resawn lumber (primavera) stickered and "acclimating" to the humidity of the house. I bought it just for a knife and watch cabinet. Been stored under the bed for the last five years. I suspect it is juuuuuust about acclimated . . . I should busss out that stuff and see what I can do with it.
Anybody use primavera for a knife storage cabinet ?
I remember seeing a youtube that I think I went to from blade forums when I first came here.
I was looking for that on YouTube for you. There seems to be quite a few.
This is pretty close to what I remember seeing. I didn't listen to the audio; I have no idea what he is saying here so good luck.
I'm using Pelican cases as well, but I still have plenty random knives scattered around the house. I got the Pelican 1450 and was able to fit 84 knives, but it's better to space them out a little more like photoman did. And nice collection you've got there photoman, went and checked out some of your other vids.
I have a multi-drawer chest with lined drawers for mine. I store all my folders open since a lot of them are autos. I store the fixed blades laying out next to their sheaths.
