How do you properly store your knives?

I just store mine in their boxes in a cheap plastic drawer. Its not pretty but it works.

Storing knives.... not something I worry about. But, I do keep my better knives in small plastic cases that hold about a dozen knives each. Stuff I am using or fondling a lot gets placed in my office on a book shelf in a rubbermaid cutlery type tray available at Walmart and most any big box store. This way at least they aren't falling down onto the floor where I can't find them. Some knives are on my large desk that has a computer, printer, working files and so forth. They get covered up from time to time and eventually I move them to the tray on the book shelf.

Stuff I am not likely to be looking at or using goes into large plastic tubs with a lid. These hold a lot of knives even in their boxes.

I just have a few knives. Clean and dry after each use. Sharpen when needed. Then lube the pivots, oil the blades, and toss in a drawer until you need them again.

Without sounding like a smart alec, mine are in my pocket, in my Go or BOB, some in my filing cabinet.

I have a box specifically for my regular smalls EDC gear.

I'm using Pelican cases as well, but I still have plenty random knives scattered around the house. I got the Pelican 1450 and was able to fit 84 knives, but it's better to space them out a little more like photoman did. And nice collection you've got there photoman, went and checked out some of your other vids.

Thanks, I've got a bunch more videos I keep meaning to do but don't have time. I've since set up a second identical 1550 case, one stores Benchmade & Zero Tolerance while the other is for Spyderco & miscellaneous brands. I bought an orange 1300 that is dedicated to my Chris Reeve knives. It's stupid that I have enough of those to justify their own case but I can't bring myself to ditch any of the ones I've got.

For the knives that I'm not using, I have a small cart on wheels that has several drawers. I sort the knives by type (fixed, folder), grind, sharpening angles, brand, steel, and other characteristics.

The ones that I'm using or may use, usually about 10-20 other knives, are kept on the work surfaces and in a small tote bag so that I can bring them where I need them.

For me the middle draw of my desk st home has come to serve me pretty well.

Properly? I store folders in a cigar box and fixed blades in a dresser drawer.

I've seen pics here of knives stored in foam lines cases. I might transport them in such, but I won't store knives or firearms in such because the foam retains moisture, even from ambient moisture from the air.

I've yet to have any issues with moisture but I do keep desiccant packs in the boxes.
