Alright Gents...I just got my ZT 0777 M390blk and it came with a 1 1/2" mark on the blade. It is not very noticeable but it is there. Does not appear to be a scratch just a rub mark. I'm sure it will come off. I just want to make sure I don't dull or ruin the DLC. Thanks!

Hey Preacher, when I used my MC Ti/ZDP with DLC to cut up a beer can just for the fun of it, I removed the marks using the eraser end of a #2 pencil. It didn't hurt the DLC, and removed the scratches entirely. It should work for you.

Congrats on the new 0777M390!

That's an ingenious way to do it Spx! I have used warm water and dish soap with a microfiber towel before it got most of the marks off. Let us know how it works for you Preacher.

I had mine in my pocket with keys, seemed to leave some really light marks on it. I thought for they'd rub off, but they didn't.When I got home I lightly oil the blade with break free clp, and rubbed it with that a bit, seemed to fade it quite a bit. I think they're still there, but you really have to look for it. I think the oil just kind of made the whole blade a little glossier that hides the scratches a bit. Still kind of upset that just some keys messed it up that much that fast when it was clipped to my pocket, the walk from my car into a diner.

I can't say whether or not this would be a factory recommended practice, but it has worked fairly consistently for me: rubbing alcohol with a cotton ball. Definitely curious if you find something that works...and in what doesn't. Good luck.

Show off. :)

Try - alcohol, acetone, and oil. Usually one of the three will clean up any marks. Metal is the toughest to get off without "shining" the spot you're removing.

I posted this in the other thread, but silicone lubricant works for me to remove marks on dlc.

I just keep going...

Hey Rycen...will flitz alter the coating? I saw where someone claimed it did. Not sure if that is true. Thanks brother!

Not in my experience it won't. DLC is tough stuff

I use a metal polish called Nevr-Dull. It cleaned up my 0550BLK nicely.
