Hi, new guy here. I have recently been introduced to quality knives in general and specifically the Busse family of knives. Within the last 2 weeks, I have bought my first 2 ScrapYard Knives (a SOD and a S5).

I don't wish to sound ignorant when discussing these knives, so my question is...how do you pronounce the name Busse?? Is it like "Bus", like "Buce", or maybe "Bucey"??

One of you experienced guys help me out here.

Until I asked that same question, here on BF, I'd always thought it was pronounced like the bolded part of the following words (used in context so it is pronounced properly), knife abuse.

hmm, I always thought it was bus-ee, until I heard it pronounced the other way in some vids. I think I had it right the first time. Hard to tell, I did a search of the Busse forum, and not many straight answers are given.

To quote an astute Hog, bank-rupt'-see.

Seriously, Busse, as in Bussy. Emphasis on the first sylable. If you call the shop and Jerry answers, that's he way he will say it, and he oughtta know.

I always thought it was B-you-see. As in like Gary Busey.

Don't know why, but I always thought it was boose, like caboose.

Meh. It's not like I have anyone to talk to in person about knives, so I'll just read the text as Boose.

Considering that it's Jerry we're talking about, wouldn't booze be a better way to pronounce it?;):p

I've oft wondered about this myself. Glad to have it cleared up. I used to think, just from the spelling, that it might have rhymed with moose or wuss. :D

In musical circles, you get 99% of folk mispronouncing Bjork and Moog...

I'm still puzzled by the surname Nguyen.
