Kaka - in Punjabi as well. Hindi and Punjabi have a lot of words in common. Only difference is in the script (written form).

Actually, it is Kaka in Nepali also. Paternal uncle is called Kaka, maternal uncle is Mama.

And Arvind, nice to see another desi guy around. Whenever I think of Kaka in Punjabi, the first thing that comes to my mind is Kake-da-Dhaba in Delhi

In Ukrainian, it would be Dyad'ko Bill or more properly, Dyad'ko Wasyl.

Hello Uncle Bill

You are also known as:

Czech--Stryc Bill

Russsian--Dyadya Bill (transliterated from the Cyrillic alphabet)

Latin--Avuncular Bill(on mother's side)
Latin--Patruus Bill (on father's side)

Pakcik Bill, Arvind & Sonam.
I think Uncle Bill in Urdu is not Kaka Bill but Chacha Bill! It is pronunce as CHAR + CHAR BILL.

Indonesian (Javanese) - Paman Bill
Indonesian (Minangkabau) - Mamak Bill

Thanks, Sonam. And yes, in Delhi, I've heard of a dhaba called Kake Da Dhaba although I've never eaten there. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only desi guy on here hehe. Drop me a mail sometime dude.

I know Kaka, my wife keeps telling me the same thing. Actually I like to kid around myself once in a while. It's good to have a sense of humor, especially in my field which is full of craziness..

Edutsi Bill.

Figured I had oughta throw in the Cherokee word for Uncle as well.
Although I don't know if it is just "uncle","your" uncle or "my" uncle.
Althugh "my" uncle would probably be Agiedutsi.
Dau-um Tsalagi is a hard language.

Did you know that almost everyone knows one Cherokee word although theyaren't aware of it.
The word is vhvh.or uhuh.It means "yes."
