How do you sew?

I have made a few sheaths and sewn them by hand. It is a lot of hard work. I am wondering if many of you use sewing machines to sew the edges. If so, what type of machine do you use. If I were to buy a machine, what should I buy?

If you're looking at machines, you're going to spend over $1000 for a used machine (if you're lucky!). Most machines run $1500 or more. Look at Tippmann for a little lower cost.

I'm saving up for an Artisan 3000. Very versatile machine but costly at almost $3000.00 with accessories and shipping.
