I have been trying to sharpen scissors without much success. I have tried the Spyderco Sharpmaker but the results aren't great. A pullthrough gadget from Smith's didn't work. Cutting sandpaper didn't work.
It helps if you can separate the blades but it's not essential. The important thing is to realize scissors don't have a sharp edge because they don't cut; they shear. So preserve the angles that are there and just clean up the wear and nicks.
EdgePro Pro Kit has a scissors sharpening option. But I don't know if you want to spend $500 for a Professional sharpening kit. For me it was worth it and now I am able to sharpen all my EDC knives and my wife's scissors (fabric and paper scissors) with ease and confidence.
