Just would like to know what is your preferred way to sharpen your sebenzas?
On a stone? With a machine? Or, or, or,?

I prefer to send them back to CRK for sharpening, personally. I don't trust myself (or anyone else) to do it properly. They come back from spa treatment plenty sharp.

I have an EdgePro Professional system I picked up in 2002 and I'll use that if I want to do a really good job. A while back I had set the primary edge to 20 degrees (40 degrees total angle) so that I could use my Spyderco Triangle Sharpmaker for everyday sharpening.

98% of the time, a quick 5 min strop from KSF... One side black or charcoal color, the other side green compound. For more major edge damage, I use a lansky guided system to prevent/lessen my own human error.

I have been MORE than shocked and impressed by the quick effectiveness of the strop. Had no idea how easy, user friendly, fool proof, and great fast results I could get from a $20(?) strop.

Kind of embaressed to admit, but I keep the strop and compounds right next to my knives, which are locked in a quick 6 digit combination sentry handgun safe, in my underwear drawer of my walk-in closet. It has become morning routine as I grab my edc's (pocket stuff) for the day, I open the quick safe (hydraulic sound), pick at random and open my knife for the day (CRK sound), and give it about 10 quick swipes on each side of the strop (shuuuuck shuuuuck shuuuuck). It may take a total of an extra 30 seconds to my morning, but I never have to guess if its smoking sharp. And more importantly, when someone asks me the cut something I always get "Holy $h1+, that things sharp" and I reply "No, it's just a CRK"

I like crock sticks, a few licks keeps them razor sharp, may do it every other day with no visible sign....

My friends all joke about how sharp my knives are but all I use is the Sharpmaker ceramic stones. Sure I could get them sharper with a more expensive and complicated setup. But this is a quick and easy way to keep em sharp enough for my purposes.

a ceramic rod and strop for touch up and to keep them tuned.
A KME to straighten edges and re profile.

Wow.... and thanks for all the answers in this short time !
I am also thinking in trying the sharpmaker for fast sharpening....

Spyderco Sharpmaker all the way for me. I also have the ultra-fine ceramic stones that are available separately. Follow the included easy directions or watch the videos for best results.

I have a strop block, but rarely use it.

I found a buy in CA that I tested out on some PM2s. Hes gonna be getting my CRKs very shortly.

A 12 inch Norton stone, 12 inch Arkansas, or two 8 inch Spyderco ceramic (one medium and one fine) meet all my needs.

I have a wicked edge sharpener and little strop with some green compound on it. They do a great job on all my knives. I will say though that the free times I have sent one of my CRK's in for a spa treatment they come back screaming sharp to.

Ceramic WhetStone to 600 Grit...

Light strop to remove any straggling burrs.

I have been jumping between 600 and 800 grit. They both cut very well. I can't decide yet if there is an advantage to one or the other.
