  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

how do you smooth the opening of your blades

Leather strop and paste - the blade tang, the washers, and the liners all can be polished to the point of smoother-than-glass and it makes a huge difference.

Plus, you don't have to worry about removing too much material (careful not to bend the washers and stay clear of the ball-detent).

Then I lube everything with Lucas High Performance Assembly Lube.

^^ i do the exact same, but use tuff glide!

I feel like I just watched a commercial about medication that helps you get rid of restless legs, but gave you heart problems, brittle bones, and anal leakage. :)

Yep that just about sums up the quality of Cold Steel nowadays and their jelly doughnut shaped president.

first, Boeshield T-9 on pivots

and secondly, I've polished bronze washers with compound, but most importantly- a lot of use (or just opening/closing while multi-tasking on other things).

And pray you don't get any debris in there - because they are not fun to clean...

I have had good luck so far with soapy water and a spritz of WD-40 or canned air, but I havn't buried mine in mud or sand yet. We will see how they do when I hit up the "sandbox" in a few weeks.
