How do you keep your schrades? Boxes, display cases, knife rolls? I'm sitting home surfing the net and figured I'd ask, just out of curiosity. I keep mine in a tackle box, all spaces are foam lined, all the fixed blades a bigger stuff go in the top all the small knives and other items go in slots in drawers.

You have no idea it is rather overwhelming however all the alternatives you mention are fine. Except for celluloid. There is a recent thread on here somewhere explaining the reasons. LT

I have 2 young boys and my knives are kept in their boxes or however they came to me, in a locked 50 gal. plastic storage chest. They don't need the temptation and it causes me less worry. Someday I'll be able to display some of them.

Since that original thread, I have begun mounting my fixed blade knives in wall mounted oak frames approximately 20" x 20". I chose printed fabric backgrounds (blue field with white stars, red bandanna print, unbleached muslin), applied double sided carpet tape to hold the cloth in, then mounted the knives using some clear elastic thread which is hardly noticable. I suppose you could use fishing line since it would look about the same, but it wouldn't let you take the knives down for playtime!

I only have three of the five frames finished so far, so only 40 or so knives are on the wall now. The frames are glass covered, and five feet up, so they are safe from my grandkids. I do not have a digital camera, so I cannot post pics of them yet.

The folders wait in a small 15" x 20" five shelf oak curio cabinet with glass doors. Hopefully the supplier of the larger frames will still have some when I can afford another five. I am quite pleased with them.

sounds like a good system you got going. I decided last night that some of my better schrades deserved better than to be stuck away in a tackle box so I built this last night from an old artifact case and some wood I had laying around. Still not totally finished, would like to get some wood strips to replace the cardboard. I will eventually get a better case, preferebly a shrade store display. Oh someday.
here is a pic.

sorry for the poor picture quality, all I had was an ancient polariod.

yes those are giant fish hooks to the left, I got everything for 7/0 up to 16/0

Nice start there, MM. Thanks for showing. Good luck in finding your factory display case.

I have a room that is temp. and humdity controlled. The knives in the collection are displayed in wood and glass cases. The others are kept in boxes.

All my cleaned and properly fed knives are kept in knife rolls. The dirty orphans are kept in my basement shop until I can get to them...
