Hi:
I am new to the forum (posted this in another forum before finding this one).
I have a growing collection of knifes and would like to display them. I am looking at http://www.mocwoodworks.com or something like this http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60238645/ Carter Cutlery seams to think that wood is the way to go http://www.cartercutlery.com/limited-custom-magnetic-knife-holders/
I am thinking that the wood one would be better because it will not damage the blade, any thoughts?

Kitchen knives are stored in a wood block. There are many options available besides just a block of wood with holes or slots. There are blocks filled with plastic rods or wooden bbq sticks for freehand placement.

For magnets, the wood option sounds better to me than the stainless so that it's not metal to metal. I don't have experience with those magnetic holders.

I do not like the blocks, they take counter space and I can't see the blade.
I will try the M.O.C. Woodworks one, they have great reviews on Amazon, will report back.
